Muscles we often don’t notice: why your pelvic floor affects urination, bowel control, and stability
The most important thing is this: A healthy pelvic floor is neither too weak nor constantly tense. It is in balance. It can contract when necessary (for example, when sneezing, coughing, laughing, jumping, or lifting) and it can relax when necessary (when urinating, having a bowel movement, or having sex).
